Alice Ray Roger
SCOTT - Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Alice Ray Roger, 86, who died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Coutrney Bergeron. Giftbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Martin Faul. Stephanie Hoffpauir, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace,"The 23rd Psalm," "Ave Maria," "One Bread, One Body," and "J'irai la voir un jour."
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Rebecca Faul; three sons, Patrick Faul and his wife, Joni, Tommy Faul and his wife, Thelma and Harry Faul; eight grandchildren, Margaret Persilver, Melanie Hull, Martin Faul, Tommy Faul, Jr., Beau James Faul, Jennifer Sherrill, Ashley Royer and Courtney Bergeron; three step grandchildren, Danny Dion Bearb, Timothy Bearb and Joann Landry; numerous great grandchildren; one step-brother, Emery Prejean; and one step-sister, U Ann Foreman-Prejean.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emick and Anna Melancon Roger; her first husband and father of her children, Martin Faul; and her second Husband, Gaston "Jr." Dugas; one great grandchild, Katie Faul; and her siblings, Juanita Shepherd and Joseph "JD" David Prejean.
Alice Ray Roger was born on December 3, 1927 in Carencro, Louisiana. Mrs. Roger enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was a devout Christian, and will always be remembered for her hard work, generosity and caring nature. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and friend to all and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited by Dot Stelly on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SCOTT Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
