Goldie J. Daigle
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Goldie J. Daigle, 81, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Victor Daigle and Phyllis Huval. Eulogist will be Michael Daigle. Stephanie Hoffpauir, organist and soloist, will sing "Lift High The Cross", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Anima Christi-Soul of Christ", and "Holy God Praise Thy Name" for the services.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Clovis C. Daigle, Jr.; two sons, Byron C. Daigle and his wife, Linda and Michael J. Daigle and his wife, Trina; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Daigle, Jessica Verret, Bethany Ducote, Austin Daigle, Tyler Daigle, Victor Daigle, Kelly Daigle and Christa Daigle; two great grandchildren, Ava Isabella Rose Daigle and Elliana Ducote; and two sisters, Verlie Daigle and Ruth Saloom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Ann Hernandez Judice; two brothers, Murphy Judice and Wilbur Judice; and one sister, Lona Perkins.
A native of Lafayette and a resident of Judice for most of her life, Goldie Daigle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Goldie Daigle will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Daigle, Chase Verret, Brennon Ducote, Austin Daigle, Tyler Daigle, Victor Daigle and Kelly Daigle.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Goldie Daigle's name to the Miles Perret Cancer Center, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Rd., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70508.
