Gordon Don Soileau
LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Church for Gordon Don Soileau, 66, who passed away on December 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm at his residence.
Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Soileau, was a resident of Lafayette, LA. Mr. Soileau owned and operated Imprinted Promotional Items Inc. (IPI) for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army, where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, having served during the Vietnam War. He also received the Bronze Star. He was a loving husband, incredible father and awesome grandfather. One of his favorite things to do was take the whole family on yearly trips to the beach. It brought him great joy to have his loved ones around him. Don was the most generous and amazing man. He had the ability to brighten your mood and make you smile.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Landry Soileau; two daughters, Pamela S. Lazzaro and husband, Blake and their son, Steven; Jennifer S. Hayes and husband, Cory and their children, Samantha, Abigail, Bennett, Aidan, Magdalene, Augustine, and Caeli; his mother in law, Anna L. Landry; his sisters in law, Diane L. LaFlamme and her husband Joseph and Mary L. Loggins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. B. A. Soileau; his father in law, Felix H. Landry; sister in law, Patricia L. Stevens; his aunts, Shirley Miller and her husband Dr. Dayton Miller, Rose Emily Soileau and her husband John Soileau, and Bargie Baquet and her husband, George.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 8:00 am to the time of services. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cory Hayes, Blake Lazzaro, Joe Melancon, Wayne Googins, Dayton "Pidge" Miller, and Mark Loftin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carroll Bourgeois, Alvin Romero, Steve Coreil and John Nugent.

To the Soileau Family, I met Don many years ago doing business with him and met him again @ the Wellness center he always knew how to make us laugh if we were having a bad day. I will always remember him. God bless all of you sorry for your loss.
