Joseph Wilbert Dartez, Sr. ARNAUDVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Joseph Wilbert Dartez, Sr., 88, who passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Chrystal Dartez and Charletta Roy-Thomas. His grandchildren will serve as Gift Bearers. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Dartez was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mr. Dartez cherished moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Calais and husband, Harold, of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Ronnie Dartez and wife, Carlene, of Cankton, Wilbert Dartez, Jr. of Arnaudville, and Freddie Dartez and wife, Aretha, of Carencro; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruby Batiste Dartez; his parents, Clopha and Clemantine Patt Dartez; three brothers, William, Henry, and Howard Dartez; and five sisters, Rena Lastrapes, Alice Chevalier, Ella Simon, Mable White, and Mary Lucy Roy. Pallbearers will be Joshua Calais, Freddie Dartez, II, Xavier Dartez, Nathan Powell, Hubert Batiste, Jr., and Wilford Chevalier. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Dartez, Wilbert Dartez, Jr., Freddie Dartez, Harold Calais, Reggie Thomas, Dwayne Kinnerson, Chris Batiste, Bryan Batiste, Ronald Gordon, Rodney Batiste, Raquel Zenon, Mary Cecil White, James Chevalier, Randy Richard, Ronnie Porche, and Mike Wiltz. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Regional Healthcare, especially Katina Lemelle, and staff, the staff of J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home, and Dr. Bryan LaBean, for the wonderful care and attention he was given. Lester J. "L.J." Domingue OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Lester J. "L.J." Domingue, 87, who passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 7:17 pm at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home, in Opelousas, LA Msgr. Keith DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, in Opelousas, LA will be Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. L.J. a resident of Opelousas, LA was the son of the late Wilson "Pete" Domingue and the former Amy Landry. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty four years Totsie Nichols Domingue; his children, Darrel Domingue, Mela Gallagher and husband Alfred, Gay Broussard and husband Garland, Terry Domingue and wife Penny; his son-in-law, Gator Conley; his step daughter, Diana Weaver and husband Jay; his niece, Cheryl Verisco, and several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Joy Domingue Conley and his sister, Isabelle D. Welborn. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 8:00 am until time of services. Dugas, John  
John M. Dugas CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for John M. Dugas, age 90, who passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro. Interment will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. The Rev. Mark LeDoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Dugas was a native of Grand Coteau and a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He was employed as an original electrician for Marine Electric of Lafayette for over twenty years, an electrical inspector for Lafayette Parish Consolidated government and has been retired from Iberia Fire and Safety of Loreauville since 1990. He was a member of the Bonne Mort Society. Mr. Dugas was a veteran of the military having served in the United States Army during World War II where he received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Purple Heart Organization, the Carencro War Veterans Association and the American Legion Post #269. Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Estelle Murrell Dugas of Carencro; one daughter, Margaret Sonnier and her husband, Wil, of Scott; three step-daughters, Lois Ann Ardoin and her husband, Russell, of Lafayette, Virginia Nix of Canton, TX, and April Gates and her husband, Rick Lyons, of West Monroe; one step-son, Michael Lee Gates and his wife, Gina, of Spring, TX; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several half sisters; and a half brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dugas and the former Elodie Morvant. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.
