Embree Lee Darby KINGWOOD, TEXAS - Embree Lee Darby was born October 28, 1926 in Spade, Texas to Sam and Ethyl Darby and passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the age of 88. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Darst Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, July 3, 2015 at Kingwood Church of Christ, 2901 Woodland Hills, Kingwood, TX 77339 followed by interment in the Veterans Houston National Cemetery. Dennis, Elizabeth  
Elizabeth M. Dennis LAFAYETTE - A Memorial Service will be held for Elizabeth M. Dennis on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 101 Live Oak Blvd., Lafayette, LA. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM and will be followed by the Service at 11:00 AM. Reverend Richard Humphries will lead the Service and will be accompanied by Musical Director Mr. Lee Cooke. Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center on the morning of Friday, June 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family members. She is survived by her loving husband James "Jim" Marble; her three children, Pamela Strickland (husband, Ronnie "Cuz") of Houston, MS; Wanda Jackson of Hendersonville, TN and Richard Dennis of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Amy Tate (husband, Kevin), Lauran Ellis (husband, Richard), Trevor Dennis and Mehgan Norris (husband, Luke) and eight great-grandchildren: Avery, Walker, Mathew, Ben, Laylah, Ameryn, Nathan and Mattee. Also left to mourn her passing are her two step-sisters Debbie Johnson (husband, Lowell) and Dolly Johnson (husband Wayne), both from Waupaca, WI. Elizabeth, age 79 years, was born on May 9, 1936 in Merrill, WI. She spent most of her childhood in Ironwood, MI and graduated from Ironwood High School in 1954. She then moved to Waukegan, WI and Belleville, IL and attended a trade school for two years while working several jobs. She managed a grocery store in Delhi, LA before moving to Natchez, MS in 1961. She raised her family in Natchez while also managing to operate four convenience stores and a liquor store. She later became a Legislative Assistant to several Louisiana state legislators and continued to work for them even after moving to Lafayette, LA in 1999. After retirement, she refined her decorating skills by making beautiful wreaths and helping her son, Richard, decorate houses for Christmas both in the Lafayette and Baton Rouge areas. She and her son had the privilege of decorating the LA Governor's Mansion for two years while Governor Mike Foster was in office. "EVERYTHING SHE TOUCHED TURNED INTO A THING OF BEAUTY!" In lieu of flowers, donations to the Asbury United Methodist Church in memory of Elizabeth would be appreciated by the family. Duplechin Sr., Gerald  
Gerald Duplechin, Sr. December 31, 1949 ~ June 27, 2015 VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gerald Duplechin, Sr., 65, announces his passing at his residence on June 27, 2015. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 3 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Richard Broussard as celebrant. A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Gerald will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 17 years, Peggy LaFleur Duplechin of Pine Prairie, sons, Gerald Duplechin, Jr. of Gries Germany, Derek Duplechin and wife Leah of Denham Springs, Tony Duplechin of Denham Springs, daughters, Tanya Hurst and husband Travis of Baton Rouge, Lori Askey and husband Larry of Chicot, Liza Fontenot and husband Todd Duncan of Baton Rouge, Lanie Ledoux and husband Kris of Point Blue, Dr. Lindsey Fruge and husband Adam of Rayne, brothers, John Ory Duplechein and wife Deannie of St. Amant, La., Harold Duplechin and wife Trish of Lafayette, sisters, Ruby Barker and husband Bill of The Villages, Florida, Geri Fontenot of St. Landry, Roma Toncrey of Pine Prairie, and Debbie Crabtree and husband Gene of Pine Prairie. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his 9 grandchildren. Gerald will now reunite in heaven with his parents, Hubert and Theolise Duplechin, sister, Leota Marie Duplechin and several unborn grandchildren. At the request of the Duplechin family, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 12 noon until time of services. A rosary will be recited in Mr. Duplechin's honor that same day at 2:15 PM. In lieu in flowers, the Duplechin family asks that you please donate to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation or similar charities of your choice.
