Richard McCrocklin Sr. BROUSSARD - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard for Richard McCrocklin Sr., age 68, who died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at his residence in Youngsville. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Reverend Bill Ruskoski, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Brandon Hyde and Kaitlyn Hyde. Karen Broussard, organist, will sing for the services, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "Here I Am Lord" and "You Are Mine". Survivors include his wife, Barbara Laurente McCrocklin of Youngsville; one son, Richard McCrocklin Jr. and his wife Simone; two daughters, Shelly Hyde and her husband Chris and Julie Seale; six grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Austin, Jacob, Lilli and Sophia; and a brother, Warren McCrocklin, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren B. McCrocklin and the former Marie Ascani, both natives of New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. McCrocklin was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette. He graduated from Warren Easton High School. He was a member of, and played trumpet in the U.S. Army Band; was a gourmet cook and owned two restaurants in Greeley, Colorado. He was a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors, and partnered with his son, Richard McCrocklin Jr. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved riding with his best friends of Lafayette. Richard McCrocklin loved going on European Cruises with Barbara, his wife of 46 years. Pallbearers will be Richard McCrocklin, Jr., Chris Hyde, Rick Wimberley, Leonard Francois, Angelo Iorio, Fernando Flores, Michael Ascani and Charlie Dugal. Honorary Pallbearers will be David McClain, Sam Ascani, Henry Ascani and Warren McCrocklin Jr. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Monday from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of Mass. A Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Voorhies Short. Moon, Larry  
Larry R. Moon LAFAYETTE - Larry R. Moon, 75 passed away peacefully at his home on December 25, 2014, surrounded by his family. Larry or "Sarge" as he was well known, was born on July 20, 1939 in Marshall County, Alabama, to Emmett and Nova Jean Moon. At 16, Larry joined the United States Marine Corps, faithfully serving more than 26 years, retiring as a Sgt. Major. During his time of service, Larry served 2 combat tours in Vietnam with the USMC 1st Battalion, 9th Marine, Delta Company, receiving 2 Purple Hearts, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Combine Action, and Palm and Frame, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation 1 star, Navy Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation 1 star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal 1 star, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with 1 star, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal Since retiring from the USMC, "Sarge," with his business partner, Daniel Loomis, established Marine Security of Lafayette, which he successfully ran for more than 30 years. While stationed in Japan, "Sarge" married his lovely wife, Yoneko, who remained by his side for more than 50 years. Known for his love of life and sense of humor, Sarge could always light up any room with his colorful phrases and twinkling eyes. His USMC mentality remained his trademark, as Sarge would also command of any event, including how to prepare the food…another favorite hobby. His love was his family, his friends, cooking, hunting, The Corps and football. "Sarge" is survived by his beautiful wife, Yoneko and daughter Anita Holsapple of Los Angeles, his sisters, Marguerite Williams of Union Grove, AL, JoAnn Fossett and Deborah Moon of Guntersville, AL, along with countless nieces and nephews. A local memorial will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30th from 4 - 7 pm for those who wish to share their memories of this larger-than-life man. Service and Burial will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Carr's Funeral Home in Guntersville, AL, with burial at Union Grove Baptist Church, Union Grove, AL Personal condolences may be sent to the Moon family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com . John Ray Mouton, Sr. SCOTT - Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for John Ray Mouton, Sr., 77, who died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Rev. Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Concelebrant. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Myra Dumesnil Mouton; his two sons, Johnny Mouton and wife Cora, and Martin Mouton and wife Cindy; his two daughters, Leah Savoie and husband Carl, and Myra Louise Mouton; his brother, Allen Mouton and wife Elia; his seven grandchildren, Jason and wife Jamie, Jeremy and fiancee Allie, Ray and his fiancee Brooke, Jessie, Garrett, Hannah and Chasy and husband Gustavo; his three great granddaughters, Jaden, Masyn and Jacee. He is also survived by his extended family and caregivers, Melinda Doxey, Tat Bertrand, Stephanie Chargois, Laura Chargois, Sandra Russo, Christy Cutrer, Jeanette Romero and a host of nieces of nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene F. Mouton and Leah Martin Mouton; his daughter, Monique Mouton; two sisters, Hazel Neef and Pauline Lacy; and his twin brother, Clay Mouton. A lifelong resident of Scott, Ray earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from SLI. He retired from Coburn's Supply Company as a salesman after 46 years of dedicated service. Ray was a hard worker, took much pride in all his endeavors and was a generous person, especially with his personal time. He was involved with the following: he served as a Eucharistic Minister, he taught CCD, involved with the Cursillo movement, volunteered at the Catholic Deaf Center for several years, and supported his children and grandchildren in all their extra curricular activities. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He was his families' "Biggest Fan". Pallbearers will be Johnny Mouton, Martin Mouton, Carl Savoie, Jason Mouton, Jeremy Mouton, Ray Savoie and Garrett Mouton. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Ray Mouton's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 3445 N. Milton Joseph Mire RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial for Milton Joseph Mire, 80, who died Monday, December 22, 2014 at his residence in Rayne, LA. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum, Rayne, LA. Surviving are one son, Corwin Mire and wife Pebbles of Rayne, one daughter, Katrinka Trahan and husband Kevin of Youngsville, four grandchildren, Arlin Mire, Ariel Mire Broussard, Kirk Trahan, Konner Trahan, two sisters, Mildred Knapp and husband Bob of Niderland, one sister, Evola Silvia of Rayne, and a special friend Ms. Dolores Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ora Mire, father, Clinton Mire, mother, Orphize Robin Mire, one brother, Gervise Mire. Mr. Milton was a graduate of Rayne High School in 1953. He held numerous positions within the US Department of Agriculture. He maintained these positions for 35 years from May, 1954 through 1989 and 1996. Mr. Milton was a member of the CFMA Chapter, in Lake Charles and Lafayette, Louisiana.. He resided as President of the CFMA for the 1997-1998 term as well as administered the Board for the CFMA Museum in Eunice. Mr. Milton held numerous Training Sessions in the Agriculture Department for USL and LSU. He was in charge of the Ariel Flight for the State of Louisiana Agriculture Department. Mr. Milton was the 2003 Frog Festival King. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 6:30 pm in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA. Friends will be received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and Wednesday, December 24, 2014 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
