Betty Sonnier Alleman LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Betty Sonnier Alleman, 85, who died on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Camelot of Broussard with her family by her side. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Scott, LA. Reverend David Hebert, Pastor of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Michelle Scott, David Comeaux and Julie Comeaux. John Comeaux will give the eulogy. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Phyllis Ann Comeaux and her husband, John, and Faye Alleman; one son, Dr. Tony Alleman; three grandchildren, Michelle Scott, David Comeaux and Julie Comeaux; and two great grandchildren, Lily Scott and Zoë Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus J. Alleman; and her parents, Leonce and Florena Richard Sonnier. Betty Sonnier Alleman was a native of Scott and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was an avid bridge player, who loved to laugh and have fun. Mrs. Alleman was always thinking about others, and enjoyed making people happy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be John Comeaux, Kevin Smith, David Comeaux, Brandon Alleman, Trevor LeMaire and Jon Scott. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Howard Alleman. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Location. Jane Roberts Armentor LAFAYETTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel for Jane Roberts Armentor, who lost her valiant, 19-month battle against Stage 4 pancreatic cancer on July 29, 2015. She was 58 years old. Father Daniel Edwards, pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Adam Armentor and Caroline Berry; gift bearers, Jane Douglas and Anne Ewing. Musical selections performed by Lisa Shepperd and Sydney Ducharme will include "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 25", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "One Bread, One Body", and "How Great Thou Art." Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Survivors include husband, Ronald James Armentor of Lafayette; one daughter, Brooke Benoit and her fiance Chad Bowles of Lafayette; her father Harry L. Roberts and his wife Clarity Tuttle of Ponchatoula; one step-daughter, Viki Falgout and her husband Solomon of Sunset; two step-sons, Brian Armentor of Lafayette and Adam Armentor and his wife Rory of Austin, Tex.; two sisters, Sally Begnaud and her husband Brian of Lafayette and Susan Riely of Katy, Tex.; one brother, Michael Roberts and his wife Shea of Boyton Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Alexis Ward, Sadi Ward, Kindi Menard, Blade Armentor, Gracie Comeaux, Magnolia Armentor, Boone Armentor, Kelsey Comeaux and Zoe Comeaux; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Easton, and Eibilene Menard. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Ann Bretzke Roberts. Jane was born January 1, 1957 the daughter of Harry and the late Beverly Roberts in Lake Charles, later moving to Lafayette. She attended Acadiana High School before moving with her family to Tehran, Iran, where she graduated from Tehran American School. Jane attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette) upon returning stateside in 1975. She worked as a Purchasing Agent for Harry Hebert, Lafayette Woodworks, Southern Structures and Ideal Steel before her retirement. Spending time with family and friends was Jane's favorite past time.. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties, and gardening. She was a strong and courageous woman, and lived her life with a kind and humble heart, always smiling; always ready to give. Pallbearers will be Chad Bowles, Adam Armentor, Eric Roberts, Dustin Guidry, Jesse Armentor and Corey Berry. Honorary pallbearers include Harry Roberts, Michael Roberts, and Mike Douglas. The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 2:00 - 9:00 pm, and resume Friday morning at 8:00 am until time of service. Babineaux, 53, who passed away July 30, 2015 at his residence. The Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, pastor of St. Leo the Great, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Kenneth Babineaux, II and Janice Broussard; giftbearers, Garrett Breaux and Dallas-Tyler Babineaux. Interment will follow the mass in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Babineaux is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pepper Babineaux of Lafayette; two sons, Kenneth Burleigh Babineaux II and Dallas-Tyler Leo Babineaux, both of Lafayette; one sister, Tina Babineaux Breaux of Duson; and one brother, Richy Babineaux of Greenbriar, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, the former Juanita Sonnier and Dallas Leo Babineaux. Kenneth was a native of Abbeville and resident of Lafayette for the past 50 years. He was a parishioner at St. Leo the Great Church, member of the Knights of Columbus- Teurlings Council, and a retired school bus driver for Lafayette Parish. Pallbearers will be David Aloisio, Kenneth Babineaux II, Dallas-Tyler Babineaux, Gary Breaux, Garrett Breaux, Ricky Babineaux, Ben Sonnier, and Shawn Pepper. Robert Daniel Bourg, Jr. "Danny" "Tweety" CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at a 1:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Robert Daniel Bourg, Jr., age 75, who passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Mr. Bourg was a resident of Carencro. He retired in 1979 with Lafayette City Police Department as a Lieutenant with 20 years of service. Mr. Bourg was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as an MP in Korea after the war. Survivors include one son, Kurt Bourg and his wife, Stephanie, of Lafayette; two daughters, Shermaine "Sherry" Lasley and her husband, Timothy, of Sunset, and Cynthia Smith and her husband, Kenneth, of Labadieville; one sister, Jeanette Bourg Chauffe and her husband, Ron, of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Taylor Lasley Suir and her husband, Kevin, Lauren Lasley, Constance Lasley, Sydni Bourg Hart and her husband, Joshua, Seth Bourg and his wife, Kristen, Alec Smith and Madison Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Allison Hart, Aries Hart and Amelie Suir. David Breaux CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for David Breaux, age 48, who passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his residence in Rayne. Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, On Eagle's Wings, and One Bread, One Body. Mr. Breaux was a native and resident of Carencro. He was a manager of Sonic Drive-In located in the Oil Center for seven years. He was also employed with Wendy's, Luther's BBQ, What-A-Burger and Popeye's in the management position. Mr. Breaux played pool in the A.P.A. League, was in a bowling league and attended Brown's Taekwondo. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle, shooting guns and coaching baseball and soccer for CAYSI for over 20 years. Mr. Breaux was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife and companion of 34 years, Melissia Menard Breaux of Carencro; one daughter, Victoria Breaux of Carencro; two sons, Dustin Breaux of Carencro, Dillon Breaux and his wife Brennan of Duson; one sister, Lisa Ducharme and her husband, Brian, of Milton; four brothers, Shannon Breaux and his fiance, Michelle Quebedeaux, of Breaux Bridge, Wayne Breaux and his companion, Barbara Williams, of Port Allen, Kenneth Breaux and his wife, Linda, of Duson, and Todd Breaux and his wife, Joyce, of Duson; one grandchild, Jillian Breaux and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar J. Breaux, the former Mary Gail Comeaux and Edwin Breaux Jr.; and two brothers, Timothy Breaux and John Breaux. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home by Charlotte Clavier. Ms. Jessie was born on August 3, 1943 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and a friend to all. Jessie enjoyed the hobbies of dancing, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with friends. She loved her family and the numerous family gatherings. Ted Louis Christ OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ted Louis Christ at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, followed by the Rite of Committal in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Monsignor Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Ted Christ, age 86, who was a native of Opelousas, LA and a resident of Lafayette, LA, died on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Our Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA. Mr. Christ proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He worked and retired from Himel Motor Supply, was Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus Council 1286, and was a member of the Marine Corp League. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his daughters, Linda Leung of New Orleans, LA and Carolyn Katz and husband Daniel of Houston, TX; brother, Kermit Christ and wife JoAnn of Opelousas; sister-in-law, Melba Christ of Opelousas; four grandchildren, Caroline Hotchkiss, David Katz, Micah Lambert, and Jennifer Christ as well as four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Claire Robin Christ; parents, Louis and Mathilde Gay Christ; brother, Ashley Christ and a sister, Dorothy Fontenot. Barbara Johnson Duplechien CECILIA - A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Barbara Johnson Duplechien, who passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, at her residence. Deacon Ken Sonnier will officiate at the Memorial Service. Scriptures will be read by Pat Day and Ginger Knott. Barbara loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many parts of the world. One of her biggest pleasures, was simply visiting with family and friends over a cup of coffee. She is survived by her son, Ritchie Duplechien of Las Vegas, NV; daughters Kim Duplechien of Tampa, FL, and Roxane Quinn and husband Robert (Pee-Wee) of Cecilia, LA; her sisters, Della (John) Picard of Cecilia, Paula (Francis "Fra") Melancon of Cecilia, Dot (Ray) Sibille of Sunset and Sheila (Pat) Day of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Xander Ward and Gia Duplechien, of Tampa, FL; the father of her children Kenneth Duplechein, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Paul Johnson, and Irene Savoy Johnson. Special thanks to her cousin, Joanna Patin, for her compassionate care in Barbara's final days. Lola Fontenot Dupre OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Lola Fontenot Dupre will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Rite of committal will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery. The Reverend Gary Schexnayder will conduct the funeral service. Lola F. Dupre, age 85, who was a native of Church Point, LA and a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Ms. Dupre was an L.P.N. by profession. She worked and retired from Opelousas General Health System after many years of service. She also worked as a private duty nurse for many years. When not on duty, Lola loved to read and she is referred to by her loved ones as the "glue of the family". She absolutely loved her children and adored her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors are her children, Ronald Charles Dupre and wife Terry of Houston, TX, Janice Lynn Dupre Landry and husband Michael of Lafayette, LA and Neal Anthony Dupre and wife Donna Edmond Dupre of Carencro, LA; grandchildren, Carrie Landry, Karen Landry, Mindy Dupre, Scott Landry, Joseph Dupre, Ryan Dupre, Tyler Murphy, Ross Murphy, Conner Murphy, and Seth Dupre; great grandchildren, Dylan Ross, Taylor Ross, Kelsey Petrose, Aubrianne Dupre and Addison Dupre; great-great grandchild, Adeline Ross. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Marie Carriere Fontenot; former husband, A.C. Dupre; daughter, Kristien Ann Dupre Murphy; great granddaughter, Tanner Angelle Landry and eleven brothers and sisters. Faul, age 64, who passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his residence in Carencro. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Carl Benton, pastor of Living Glory Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services. Mr. Faul was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He was owner/operator of Faul's Auto Salvage and Sales for many years. He was also previously employed with Carencro Police Department and was the first officer in Carencro to complete the course at the Police Academy. He was a member of Living Glory Church in Lafayette. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Glenn Faul and wife, Rochelle, of Lafayette, Brian Faul of Hawaii; one daughter, Cathie "Peanut" Hebert and husband, Darryl, of Cankton; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers, V.H.
