YOUNGSVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Maurice, LA for Addison Clare Montgomery, 7, who passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7:52 am at Women's & Children's Hospital in Lafayette, LA

Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.

Addison, a resident of Youngsville, LA was the daughter of Shad Montgomery and the former Andrea Saucier.

Addie Clare was a true angel sent to us from our Lord. She was born with Chromosome 2 deletion, an extremely rare genetic abnormality that normally is not compatible with life. For 7 years our baby defied the odds. Though she could not sit up on her own, or walk, or talk, she had more strength and determination than anyone we have ever known. She always had a smile on her face and laughed joyfully at the sight and voices of all that she loved. She taught us all about life, about never taking one single breath for granted, about sacrifice, priorities, and most of all about unconditional love. She is our hero and we will never be the same again.

She is survived by her parents, Andrea Saucier Montgomery and Shad David Montgomery; her brother, Reese David Montgomery; her maternal grandmother, Kathy F. Saucier and her maternal grandfather Michael K. Saucier; her paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Bea Montgomery; her uncles, Brian R. Saucier, Skeeter Montgomery, Shannon Montgomery and Mitchell Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Alphan and Yvonne Fontenot, Vionel and Aurelia Saucier, and her paternal great grandparents, George and Verdie Montgomery and Alcee and Leonia Gautreaux and godfather Chad Saucier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 8:00 am until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Brian R. Saucier, Skeeter, Shannon and Mitchell Montgomery.

We would like to especially thank her wonderful nurse and our very special friend, Danette Spain for her exceptional care and unconditional love of our precious baby girl. We want to thank Renee Lane, P.T., and Beth Deloach, O.T. for their faithful commitment to Addie Clare since she was 7 months old; every milestone was achieved with the help of their determination. We would also like to thank her doctors who have assisted us throughout these last 7 years: Dr. Nalam (pediatrician), Dr. Eldridge (ENT), and Dr. Schexnayder (Neurology).

Her joyful spirit is high in the heavens and she will be sadly missed here on earth by all who were lucky enough to live, love, and be loved by her.

Personal condolences may be sent to the Montgomery family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com.
