GRAND COTEAU - A mass and memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church in Grand Coteau, for Brigid Pellerin Brown, 50, who passed away in Seaside, California, on August 25, 2013.

The daughter of John and Elizabeth Pellerin of Sunset, Brigid is survived by her son, Christopher Brown, her mother Elizabeth, step-father Frank Deerman, siblings Mark Pellerin, Ramona Pellerin, Marguerite Reed, Alan Pellerin, Carisa Dutel, her beloved aunt Jennifer Garbarino, godchild Lauren Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Andrew Pellerin.

A native of Sunset, Brigid graduated from Sunset High School in 1981. She earned a degree in Interior Architecture in 1987 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

Brigid was a resident of Monterey, CA for the past 25 years. An artist, she worked first as an interior designer, and then as a massage therapist, instructor, and spa manager.

Brigid's artistic expression was revealed through her drawing, jewelry making, mask making and photography. She fought breast cancer for eight years. She remained active in her community, most recently with the Monterey Arts Council through its Arts as Healing program.

Brigid passed away peacefully at home, cared for by family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Pellerin family asks that everyone consider donation to a local charitable organization.
