Douglas A. Lock

LAFAYETTE - Private funeral services were held on November 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. for Douglas A. Lock, 60, who passed away quietly on November 11, 2012 at 9:35 a.m. after a short battle with cancer. Several scriptures and songs were included in the services which Chaplin Toney presided over.

He was born in Odessa, TX on May 7, 1952. He had been a resident of Louisiana for the past 35 years. Previously he had lived in Nebraska and constructed mobile homes as his trade. He also played in two bands. While in Louisiana, his jobs included cooking offshore, carpentry, vet's helper, and auto mechanic. He was also a very talented artist.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Boyd and Sylvia Lock; maternal grandparents, W.A. (Bill) and Norma Browne; mother, Norma J. Adams; and brothers, William (Bill) B. Lock and Winston B. Lock.

He is survived by his father, Elmo and Lida Lock, of Lafayette; sisters, Debra & Robert Romero, of Lafayette, Lora & Tim Paradine, of Carencro, and Lita and & Danny Perry, of Fairfax, Missouri; step brother, Roman & Ann Lock, of Houston; son, Ronnie Cook of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two grandsons, Derrick & Collin Cook, of Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss their Uncle "Bugs" dearly.

We are deeply grateful to all who were involved in taking care of our loved one during his illness.
