Elmo Jean Robin
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Elmo Jean Robin, age 83, who passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, will officiate at the services. Readers will be April Lemoine and Abbi Domingue. Giftbearers will be Becky Dugas and Jeannine Robin.
Mr. Robin was a native of Duson and a resident of Lafayette. He was employed with the Lafayette Parish Fire Department for twenty years, worked as a school bus operator for the Lafayette Parish School Board for seventeen years and was a musician and singer. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church where he was a 4th Degree Knight and Charter Member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Knights of Columbus Council #5345 and a Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Bishop Dubourg Assembly #315. Mr. Robin was a veteran of the Military having served in the U.S. Navy
Survivors include his wife June Marie Prejean Robin of Lafayette; two sons, Jeffery Lynn Robin and his wife Melanie, of Breaux Bridge, and John Kirk Robin and his wife, Tracy, of New Iberia; two daughters, Jeannine Ann Robin of Lafayette, and Elizabeth Birch of California; two step-sons, Allen Lormand, Jr. and his wife, Kinnon, of Santa Rosa, CA and Randy Lormand and his wife, Debra, of Cedar Park, TX; two step-daughters, Tina Domingue and her husband, Ricky, of Lafayette, and Nancy Dalfrey and her husband, Allen, Sr., of Fort Worth, TX; twenty grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joycie Lantier Robin; one daughter, Patsy Ruth McGuire; his parents, Numa Robin and the former Celena Hulin; five brothers, Maurice Robin, Rufus Robin, Leeroy Robin, Noran Robin and Irby Robin; seven sisters, Infant Sister, Azena Palombo, Anna Sonnier, Agnes Alleman, Eunice Crouchet, Emilie Abshire and Lelia Robicheaux; one half brother, John Clinton Robin; and one half sister, Mary Dalphane.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made for masses to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 610 Raintree Trail, Lafayette, LA 70507.
Pallbearers will be John Kirk Robin, Al Mitchell Dugas, Jeffery Robin, Ian Robin, Denny Paul O'Brian and Daniel Birch. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Birch and Allen Dalfrey, Jr.
