Frank Albert Gravot
IOTA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Frank Albert Gravot, 73, who died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at 8:20 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Frank was a native and lifelong resident of Iota, a graduate of St. Francis High School, and a 1962 graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana (now ULL). He was a veteran having served his country in the US Air Force. Frank was an accountant with Raspberry & Clarke Construction Company for five years and then retired from Southwest Louisiana Developmental Center in Iota after over thirty years of service, and had his own tax service for over forty years. He was an avid gardener, loved to travel but family meant more than anything.
Monsignors Paul Metrejean and Russell Harrington will con-celebrate the funeral mass. Musical selections will be provided by Ricky Guidry, Dennis Guidry and Karen Klumpp. The family requests visiting hours Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 p.m. by Fr. Randall Moreau. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Frank is survived by his wife of 20 years, Denise Guidry Gravot of Iota; two daughters, Renae G. Stanford and her husband Byron of Iota, Marguerite G. Lormand and her husband Kevin of Scott; one son, Gustave John Gravot II and his wife Dana of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Katelyn Stanford, Brooke Stanford, Jake Lormand, Caroline Lormand and Kristyn Lormand; one brother, Joseph John Gravot, Sr. and his wife Brenda of Iota; aunt, Rita Gorzycki of Austin, TX and uncle, C. A. Fabacher of Iota; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Lucille Fabacher Gravot.
Pallbearers will be Joseph "Bubba" Gravot, Jr., Chris Gravot, Stephen Gravot, Glen LeGros, Jake Lormand and Bill Fabacher. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Gravot, Sr., C. A. Fabacher, Byron Stanford, Kevin Lormand, Dennis Guidry, Ricky Guidry, Dennis Hensgens and Gustave Gravot II.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Brierre, the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, nurses at Infusion Therapy, and the staff of M. D. Anderson Hospital.
