Frederick J. Hosli, III (1927-2014)

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at a 10:00 AM Memorial Mass in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Frederick J. Hosli, III, 86, who passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Reverend Patrick Broussard, Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN on Friday, from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Inurnment and committal services at the family grave will follow at St. John - Hope Mausoleum on Canal Blvd. in New Orleans at a future date.

Fred was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 18, 1927 to Frederick J. Hosli, Jr. and Antoinette Beninato Hosli. Fred grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he helped his father in the coffee roasting business. He graduated from the University of Alabama and served in the United States Navy.

After his father's death in 1959, Fred provided a home for his Mother until her death in 1993. Most of his adult life was spent in Lake Charles and Lafayette, where Fred worked for KATC TV-3 for 30 years in sales as an account manager. Fred was involved in the pioneer days of television in the 1960s, doing his own ad production, development, music, voice over, etc.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved first cousin Anna May Maniscalco. He is survived by Anna Mae's husband Salvador Maniscalco of Harahan, Louisiana and Anna May's daughters Maureen Biggs of Galveston, Texas and Mary Ann Sloan of Atlanta, Georgia.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kingsley Place (Emeritus) of Lafayette and nurse practitioner Lisa Tabor for their care over the past 4 years.
