BROUSSARD - A Memorial Service and Tribute will be held between 9:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Life Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard, La. for Gerald Joseph Guilbeau, 67. Mr. Guilbeau, a native of Lafayette, La. and long-time resident of Broussard, died at 6:40 A.M. Tuesday, December 11 at his residence. Father Bill Ruskoski will conduct the service with entombment following in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum adjacent to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Viator) Guilbeau of Broussard; a son, Kevin Boutte of Lafayette; a brother, Lawless Guilbeau of Broussard; two sisters, Carol Smith and husband Preston and Barbara Romero and husband Kenneth-all of Broussard; his best friend, Dallas Benoit of Broussard; his grandchildren, Shayne and Kallie Boutte and his great-grandchildren, Chloe and Deuce Boutte and Aubree Attwater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawless and Nellie (Champagne) Guilbeau.

Mr. Guilbeau, a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam Era, was retired after working as a plumber for some 40 years.

The family wishes to thank his nurses, "Gerald's Angels", Jackie, Chris, Denise and Delana of Southern Care Hospice for their compassion and care during his illness.
