Joseph "Nu Nu" Stelly

CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at a 3:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word Service in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Joseph "Nu Nu" Stelly, age 62, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 3:08 p.m. at his residence in Carencro.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Joe worked at Mayfair Window & Door Company in the Assembly Dept. He began his career on September 18, 1980 and worked until the plant closed in 2011. He was such a conscientious worker and was always willing to go beyond what was asked. He was awarded several certificates for his dedication to his profession and was also awarded the Most Valuable Employee certificate. Joe was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!

Survivors include his brother, Elton Stelly and wife, Emily; his brother, Murphy Stelly and wife, Eva; his sister, Shirley Stelly Mouton and husband, Chester; and his nieces and nephews, Tina Stelly Coble and husband, Phillip, Lisa Stelly Simon, Debbie Mouton Dugas, Sheila Mouton Morgan and her husband, Lloyd, Michael Mouton and wife, Ashley, David Mouton and wife, Kim, and Kevin Stelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oleus Stelly and the former, Marie Ada Landry; and his eldest sister, Verly Mae Stelly Mouton.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until service time on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Elton Stelly, Murphy Stelly, Michael Mouton, Derek Dugas, Dennis Louviere and Lloyd Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Stelly, David Mouton, Drake Dugas and Damon Dugas.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Richard Feucht, Dr. Stephen Abshire and Dr. Shobha Joshi from Oshner Clinic in New Orleans for the care, support and kindness they offered during Joe's illness. We would also like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for the exceptional care and attention given to Joe.
