Larry L. Miller
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Larry L. Miller, 77, who died on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Marie Camille Bernard Miller of Lafayette; one daughter, Margaret Miller Landry and her husband, Tate, their children, Mallory Camille and Magdalyn Margaret of Lafayette; three sons, Marshall Miller and his wife, Donna Trahan, their children, Taylor Angelle and Macy Jeanne of Lafayette, Myron Miller and his wife Dusty LaHaye, their children, Dulcie Jane, Claudia Marie, and Ella Grace of Ville Platte, and Myles Miller and his wife, Melissa Lanclos, their children, Tucker Myles and Sidney Amelia of Lafayette; and one sister, Betty Miller Clover and her husband, Kenneth of Detroit, MI.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia Mouton Miller and his father, Leon Miller.
A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He retired from the city of Lafayette with 29 1/2 years of service in the accounting and budget departments. He was an honorary life member of Msgr. Teurlings Knights of Columbus Council 3202. He was a 25 year member of the Lafayette Area Football Official's Association. Larry was a avid golfer, a former lifelong member of Acadian Hills, a member of the Acadiana Golf Society, Carencro Golf Association, Carencro Seniors Golf Association, Saint Pierre Golf Association, Knights of Columbus International Amateur Golf Association, and Muni's Sunrise Group. He loved to bowl, where he served as league secretary of the Knights of Columbus bowling league for over 40 years.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Miller, Myron Miller, Myles Miller, Tucker Miller, Tate Landry, Norman Landry, Wayne Landry, and Francis Knight.
Honorary Pallbearers will be will be his brother-in-law, Kenneth Clover, James "Boulon" Broussard and his Bouree' buddies.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:30 PM by members of Msgr. Teurlings Knights of Columbus Council 3202 in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
The children of Mr. Miller would like to thank their mother for the devoted love and continued care of their father.
