Levi Donald Cavasso

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for Levi Donald Cavasso, age 72, who died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Pelican Pointe Health Care & Rehabilitation in Maurice.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Milton, Louisiana.

Reverend Michael Sucharski SVD, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maurice, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Con Celebrant will be Deacon Cody Miller with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton. Lector will be Dana Cavasso. Giftbearers will be Ryan and Alex Cavasso.

Survivors include his daughter, Michele Nobles and her husband, Larry; one son, Blaine Cavasso and his wife, Dana; seven grandchildren, Steven Moulard, Kevin Moulard, Sara Moulard, Lucas Cavasso, Nina Cavasso, Alex Cavasso and Ryan Cavasso; two sisters, Dorothy Latham and her husband Donald and Doris Trotter; one brother, Tommy Trotter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Decou Cavasso; his parents, Joseph Felix Cavasso and the former, Gracey Lee Dossey.

Mr. Cavasso was born on January 6, 1941 in Galveston, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Milton, Louisiana. He was a veteran of military service, having proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Mr. Cavasso was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton and also a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Fiber Optic Inspector with AT&T with 40 years of service. Mr. Cavasso enjoyed painting, geneology, watching movies and reading.

Pallbearers will be Larry Nobles, Danny Pierson, Tommy Trotter, Alex Cavasso, Blaine Cavasso and Ryan Cavasso.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Deacon Cody Miller.
