Joe A. McKinley
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 5:30 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Joe A. McKinley, 88, who died on Friday, January 24, 2014 in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Reverend Wallace Millsaps, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Jeanerette, La., will conduct the service.
Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles, La.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Kevin McKinley and CAPT Kenneth McKinley, SC, USN; his brother, Robert McKinley and sister, Earlene McKinley Holt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Ledoux McKinley; his parents, Earl and Janie Ward McKinley; and son, Kerry McKinley.
Joe McKinley was born on December 10, 1925 in Pharoah, Oklahoma. He graduated from Edna High School in Edna, Texas and enlisted in the U.S. Navy
. Following the Second World War he met and married Dolores Lee LeDoux in Lake Charles, and began his college education at McNeese State College. After further naval service in the Korean War he finished a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a dedicated employee of Amoco Production Company for over 31 years. Mr. McKinley was a loving father and brother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday, January 26, 2014, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 1:00 PM.
