Nolan "Nu" Broussard


Funeral services will be held Monday, September 2, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Nolan "Nu" Broussard, age 83, who passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:02 a.m. at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Erath, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Broussard was a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette until 2010, when he moved to Carencro. He was a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church of Lafayette. Mr. Broussard was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, the former Joyce Prejean of Carencro; two sons, Terry "Poteau" Broussard and his fiancée, Bridgett "Bedo" Baudoin, of Carencro and Norbert "Squirrel" Broussard of Scott; one grandchild, Tyler Paul Healy; and one brother, Earlan "Bruce" Broussard and his wife, Linda, of Carencro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilty Broussard and the former, Annie Comeaux, both natives of Carencro.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Monday until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Broussard, Keith Broussard, Timmy Broussard, Norbert Broussard, Tyler Healy and Terry Broussard.
