Odele "Tibby" Bordelon
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mrs. Odele "Tibby" Bordelon, age 90, who died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 7:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
The Reverend Howard Blessing will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Reverend Peter Emusa will be the Con-Celebrant. Lectors will be her Godchildren, Julie Sandridge and Janice Coco. Giftbearers will be her children. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing, "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "The Lord Is My Shepherd", "Ave Maria", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" and "On Eagles' Wings".
Survivors include her four children, Lewis O. Bordelon and his wife, Karen, Rene J. Bordelon, Therese Bordelon Debaillon and her husband, Tommy, Nanette Bordelon Bolton and her husband, Billy; ten grandchildren, Ashley B. Rivero, Brittany B. Wagner, Justin B. Bordelon, Phyllis R. Landry, Erin E. Debaillon, Kelly D. Jamison, Michelle M. Debaillon, Elizabeth B. Ruland, Bridgette M. G. Bolton and Ben B. Bolton; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Thibodeaux; three sister in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in Eternity are her husband, Hewitt J. Bordelon; a daughter, Phyllis Faye Bordelon; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Thibodeaux; and two brothers, Marcus Thibodeaux and Stanford Thibodeaux.
The Bordelon Family is especially grateful for Eva Hamilton Senegal, a lifelong companion and support to the entire family, numerous loving friends and caring sitters who made her final years most comforting.
Odele was born on November 18, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She attended Lafayette High School and SLI where she met her husband, Hewitt. Together, they owned and operated Lafayette Woodworks and R. V. Sales. Odele loved to travel and tailgate along with Hewitt in their motorhome. Playing cards with friends was a favorite pastime.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Carmelite Monastery, 1250 Carmel Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70501.
Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of the services.
Pallbearers will be Ben Bolton, Billy Bolton, Justin Bordelon, Thomas Debaillon, Thomas Deloach and Eugene Thibodeaux.
