Pauline "Polly" Lacy
SCOTT - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at a 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Pauline "Polly" Lacy, 84, who died on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Cornerstone Village South.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Concelebrant for the funeral Mass will be Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott.
Survivors include her four daughters, Carolyn Stutes and her husband Keith of Lafayette, Dianne Smith and her husband Carl of Seattle, WA, Leah Wheeler of Atlanta, GA, and Claudette Talley and her husband Mike of Scott; two sons, Dupre Prejean of Spring, TX and Barry Lacy of Prairieville, LA; nine grandchildren, Aimee Olivier, Erin Soignier, Justin Prejean, Tracy Smith, Tyler Smith, Nick Smith, Allison Wheeler, Zach Wheeler and Luke Lacy; four great grandchildren, Brayden and Adalee Olivier, Elise Soignier, and Troy Smith; and two brothers, Allen Mouton and Ray Mouton.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lidley Prejean and Malcolm Lacy; one infant son, Richard Prejean; her parents, Rene and Leah Martin Mouton; two sisters, Hilda Mouton and Hazel Neef; and one brother, Clay Mouton.
A lifelong resident of Scott, Pauline Lacy was known as "Polly" to everyone. She was a teacher at Cathedral Elementary and was a bank teller at Guaranty Bank. Mrs. Lacy was a past member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America Court 2321. Polly was a devoted member of the neighborhood rosary group. She loved flowers, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Barry Lacy, Mike Talley, Justin Prejean, Brad Olivier, Kyle Soignier, Zach Wheeler and Luke Lacy.
Honorary pallbearers will be her two brothers, Allen Mouton and Ray Mouton.
A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SCOTT Location.
Visitation will be observed on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
