Peter Joseph Guidry, Jr. was born November 7, 1955 to the late Peter Joseph Guidry, Sr. and the late Marie Matthews Guidry. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He

grew up in Crowley and Lafayette, raised by his late Aunt Anna Mae (Honey) Campbell and his late Uncles John H Campbell, and William Mudd. He attended St Theresa Catholic School in Crowley and graduated from Northside High School in Lafayette. He attended Delegado Community College and has numerous certificates from various community colleges.

Peter was his birth name, but many knew him as "Doonie" who had a unique temperament. He spoke his mind and he at times he did not care how you felt what came out of his mouth even if was hurtful. He was always right in his mind. His wife, Angelina was often apologizing for his comments. But he did have some good qualities. He loved food especially boiled crawfish. The neighbors would often say that he ate so much crawfish he may start to walk backwards like one. He loved music but only music from the fifties through the seventies. He loved playing his guitar and this hobby led him to put together two bands. One band called "First Gear" and the other one called "The Racino Boyz". Both bands performed at many functions. He had many jobs and one of his most interesting one was driving a coach for Shelly Garrett Production, a play-write director who originally wrote the score to "Barbershop". He had an opportunity to travel to various cities across the country and he met many famous celebrities during his employment. He loved sports especially watching his New Orleans Saints. He was a very devoted fan even during the bad seasons. When they won the Superbowl, he said that he never thought he would live to see them win one. He was known by a lot of people

some of them were homeless. While he sat on the front porch, people would often take time to talk with him before going to eat at St Joseph Diner and if someone had miss the serving hours, he go into the house and give them something to eat.

Angelina said, she will truly miss her husband. She said, we have been knowing one another since childhood. They even have films of each other together. Never in her wildest dreams thought they would end up marrying. Another interesting fact, they were both born within the same month, and had the same astrological sign. So they decided to marry within that same lucky month for both of them. As she looked back maybe it was their destiny to form a bond. With all those coincidences how could a couple go wrong.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 35 years, Angelina Cormier Guidry of Lafayette, they have two sons, Peter Joseph Guidry, III (wife Jerrica) of Carencro, and Bryan Christopher Guidry of Lafayette. Four brothers, Edgar Guidry of Lafayette, Bernard Guidry of Donaldsonville, Alfred Guidry (wife Pat) of San Antoino, Texas, John Guidry of Houston, Texas, three sisters, Madella Guidry of New Orleans, Joyce Guidry Combs (husband Bruce) of Tennessee, Rosalyn Guidry Auzenne (husband Ron) of Opelousas, two grandsons, Myles Jacob Guidry and Cameron Etienne, step-mother, Rose Guidry of Tennessee, father-n-law, Joseph Cormier, mother-n-law, Joyce Anderson Cormier both of Lafayette, sister-n-law, Linda G Cormier, three aunts, Augustine Navarre and Gladys Matthews both of Lafayette, Evelyn Matthews Walker (husband Leonard), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Peter Joseph Guidry, Sr and his mother Marie Matthews Guidry, his aunt Anna Mae Campbell, two uncles John Campbell, and William Mudd, his half-brother, Peter Dietrich, his grandfather, Cosside Matthews, and his grandmothers, Made11 Roy Matthews and Regina Poydras Hebert.
