Walter Joseph Armentor Jr.
CROWLEY - Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Walter Joseph Armentor, Jr. who died February 27, 2014 at Southwind Nursing Home.
Rabbi Barry Weinstein will be officiating for the services. Visitation may be observed from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
Mr. Armentor was born in Crowley and resided there for 88 years. After graduating from Crowley High School he enlisted in the United States Navy
and served for two years. After being honorably discharged he enrolled in S.L.I. and earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration. He and his wife owned and operated Bowsky's and Bowsky's Gifts for 65 years. He loved golf, and later in life he was an avid fisherman and dancer. There was never a day that went by that he did not read the newspapers and stock quotes. Walter loved life and lived every minute to the fullest.
He is survived by two daughters, Gail Armentor Johnson and her husband, Percy of Crowley, and Renee Armentor Chastant and her husband, Sonny of Crowley; one son, Russell Hodges of Austin, TX; one sister, Sarah Armentor Bercier of Crowley; four grandchildren, Amy Nork of Lafayette, Shelly Nork of Lafayette, Jason Simoneaux of Lafayette, and Craig Simoneaux of Crowley; and four great-grandchildren, Allie Bowsky Nork, Blake Hebert, Elise Simoneaux, and Alex Simoneaux.
Mr. Armentor is preceded in death by his wife, Sis Bowsky Armentor; his parents, Walter and Carrye Armentor, Sr.; one niece, Kay Hodges; and one nephew, Billy Hodges.
