Wilfred Schexnayder, Jr.
LAFAYETTE - Wilfred Schexnayder, Jr., 59, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and resident of Mont Belvieu, Texas for the past thirteen years, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his residence.
A memorial gathering will be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
Survivors include his beloved wife Elaine Schexnayder of Mont Belvieu, Texas; one daughter, Katherine Faye Schexnayder of Lafayette, Louisiana; three brothers, Alfred Schexnayder of New Orleans, Louisiana, Wilton Schexnayder of Crosby, Texas, and Richard Schexnayder of Crosby, Texas; four sisters, Dorothy Broussard of Alexandria, Louisiana, Mary Ann Fabacher of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jo Ann Trahan of Youngsville, Louisiana, and Melissa Schexnayder of Alexandria, Louisiana; and his granddaughter and best friend, Greta Katherine Schexnayder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred "Charlie" Schexnayder and Rowena Landry Schexnayder.
"Jr.", as he was affectionately known, worked for Baker Hughes as a project manager for 39 years. He loved his family, especially spending time with his granddaughter. He spent the last 3.5 years of life being the builder of tents, the giver of gifts, the artist of color pages and the instigator of mischief with his new best friend, Greta, just like he had many years before with his daughter, Katherine. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
