William R. "Waxie" Duplichan

MAURICE - Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice for William R. "Waxie" Duplichan, 70, who passed away on March 10, 2013 at 9:12 pm at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.

Deacon Cody Miller will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Abshire Cemetery.

Mr. Duplichan, a resident of Maurice, LA, was the son of the late Raymond Duplichan and the former Ella Langley. William was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. His passion in life was training race horses.

He is survived by his wife, Jean B. Duplichan of Maurice, LA; one son, Joseph Lawrence Duplichan of Maurice, LA; two step sons, Edwin Stanford of Denham Springs, LA and Keith Webb of Maurice, LA; one step daughter, Darnelle Guidry of Lafayette, LA; two granddaughters, Lyria and Layla Stanford; one grandson, Josh Webb; and his little puppy, Bonita.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edwin Ray Duplichan, and two brothers, James and Robert Duplichan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening in the funeral home at 6:00 pm.
