Lafayette - W.J. "Dub" Bullock, 84, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
Dub is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rose Marie Lynd and two children, Jacqueline Demary and her husband Gilbert of Sulphur, LA. and Dub Bullock of Thibodeaux, LA. His pride and joy were his six grandchildren, Beau, Jessica, Jordan, Brady, Katie and Tuffy and four very special great-grandchildren, Laiken, Teddy, Benton and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and one very special grandson, Beau Bullock.
Dub graduated from Cotton Valley High School at the age of fifteen and started working in the oilfield that summer. He worked for several drilling companies through the years and then became an independent drilling consultant. Later in life, he started his own company, Well Site Tool and Specialty, Co.
His hobby was making steel guitars. All his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends have one.
He was a charter member of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana, F & AM, Hope Lodge No. 145 of Lafayette.
There will be no funeral at his request.
