Tommy Flynn Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Tommy Flynn, 65, who died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his residence in Dallas, Texas.
Reverend Chris Blanchard of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lafayette will conduct the memorial service.
Survivors include his wife, Shelley Bayless Flynn of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Jennifer Flynn Broussard and her husband, Chris of Lafayette; one son, Steven Flynn and his wife, Leslie Valure Flynn of Lafayette; one step-daughter, Lindsey Redwine and her husband, Cary of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren, Kayla Broussard, Gavin Scroggins, Paige Broussard, Joshua Flynn, Joseph Flynn, Kaitlin Reece, Kennedy Turner, and Tanner Redwine; one great grandson, Ryder Trull.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ray Flynn and Ramona Jean Paschal Flynn; and his first wife, Candace Grantham Flynn.
A resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life, Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy where he received the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V" during his tour in Vietnam. He was an advocate of youth sports, a long time coach and board member of Lafayette Little League Baseball, as well as being one of the founders of the LYSA soccer program and Lafayette Biddy Basketball.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
