CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Alice Hanks Desormeaux, 74, who died October 6, 2013 in Baton Rouge.
Msgr. Paul Metrejean will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by three children, Mary Anne Desormeaux Schoen-Champney and her husband Steven of Baton Rouge, Philip Louis Desormeaux, Jr. of Mermentau, and Olivia Caroline Desormeaux of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Myrtle Hanks of Baton Rouge, Sadie Redlich of Crowley, Joicy Sterling of Beaumont, TX, Guilderie Armentor of Lake Charles, and Roberta John of Lafayette; one brother, Carl Hanks of Lafayette; and two grandchildren, Steven "Will" Champney, and Mary Catherine Champney.
Mrs. Desormeaux is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Louis Desormeaux, Sr.; her parents, Guilliam and Olive Quebodeaux Hanks; one sister, Ruby Saltzman, and one brother, Earl Hanks.
