CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Chester "Pee Wee" Broussard, age 93, who passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 5:40 a.m. at Pelican Point Health Care in Maurice.

Deacon Kenneth Arnaud of will officiate at the services.

Mr. Broussard was a native and a lifelong resident of Youngsville. He retired as a mechanic from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and was a well-known musician, who played accordion and fiddle. Mr. Broussard was instrumental in playing music for KLFY Radio and T.V. station. He played with numerous bands over his lifetime and traveled throughout the United States. Mr. Broussard was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters from his first wife, Betty Broussard of Youngsville and Mary Lumetta and her husband, Al, of Scott; one daughter from his second wife, Susan Bergeron and her husband, Dickie, of Des Allemands; five grandchildren, Mark Abshire, Ryan Broussard and his wife, Lisa, Matthew Thomassee and his wife, Theresa, Wendy Thomassee Veron and her husband, Scott and Julie Bergeron; and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor and Tate Abshire, Zoe Thomassee, Cole Veron, Grayson Broussard and Benjamin Bergeron.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Eve Sonnier Broussard; his second wife, Aurelia Trahan Broussard; his parents, Sosthene Broussard and the former Rose Trahan, both natives of St. Martin Parish; two infant daughters, Rose Marie Broussard and Anna Lea Broussard; an infant son; his oldest grandsons, Glenn Abshire and Richard Bergeron, Jr.; four sisters; and seven brothers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday.
