ARNAUDVILLE - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Freddie "Chou" Marks, age 71, who passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:55 a.m. at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Marks was a native and a lifelong resident of Arnaudville, where he was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church. Mr. Marks achieved many accomplishments including becoming a licensed navigator and captain, allowing him to work and travel all over the world. Mr. Marks was a Captain of the Navajo with his brother, Daniel and retired with Tidewater Marine with over thirty-five years of service. He was a very generous and compassionate man who will be missed by his family, friends and all of his pets.

Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, Barbara Taylor Marks, of Arnaudville; two sons, Joel Marks and Joshua Marks and his wife, Tammy, all of Arnaudville; one daughter, Fredrika Arnaud and her companion, Anthony Desselle, of Leonville; five grandchildren, Ciji Marks, Cole Marks, Joby Marks, Chloe Marks and Jacques Arnaud; one brother, Daniel Marks and his wife, Suzanne, of Arnaudville; one sister, Gladys Lanclos of Arnaudville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonidas Marks and the former, Louisa Olivier; one son, Benjamin Marks; three brothers, Felix Marks, Leon Marks and Glynn Harris Marks; and two sisters, Myrtle Usie and Deanna Picou.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Joel Marks, Joshua Marks, Daniel Marks, Chris Marks, Glynn Taylor and Anthony Desselle. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacques Arnaud, Cole Marks and Joby Marks.
