WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS - George Wagner Dimock passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas, on May 15, 2013.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Lile officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
He was born in Bowie, Texas on August 2, 1915, to the late George W. Dimock and Katherine Wagner Dimock. He was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church, where he shared a teaching responsibility in the B- Bible Class. He helped organize the Faith Baptist Church, now one of the two largest churches in Wichita Falls, 60 years ago. He was the first Chairman of the Board of the Faith City Rescue Mission of Wichita Falls. He was a charter member of the Board of Directors of the Scripture Memory Fellowship of St. Louis, Missouri. He was a life member of the Gideon Bible Society. He was a sinner and saved by Grace.
He was active in the oil and gas industry in Wichita Falls, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana for over half a century, being a petroleum geologist and producer of oil and gas. He was the youngest elected president of the North Texas Oil and Gas Association and was also president of the Midcontinent Oil and Gas Association.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Patterson Dimock, two sons, Joe Wagner Dimock and Dan Akin Dimock, seven grandchildren, Jolie Humphrey, Steve Dimock, Keith Dimock, Caron Walker, Dannette Huffpauir, Ryan Dimock, and Taylor Dimock.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
