LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille, 330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, LA for Ivy Joseph LeBlanc, who passed away peacefully at 7:25 PM, surrounded by his family on Friday, January 17, 2014.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Alison Melancon and Robyn Lee. Giftbearers will be Victoria Smith, Rachel Witkiewicz and Monique Broussard. Melody Thibodaux will sing, "Amazing Grace", "Our Father", " Glory Alleluia," "Hail Mary Gentle Woman" and "Be Not Afraid", accompanied on the organ by Karen Broussard.
He was born in Lafayette, LA, on January 7, 1929. He proudly served in the U.S. Military, as a Paratrooper with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne until 1952. He went on to graduate with a 4 year degree from the Southwest Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He was a long standing member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Genevieve Council 1286.
He was a wonderful husband to his loving wife, Jeanette Landry LeBlanc, for 60 years and dedicated to his 6 daughters, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Daughters are Rebecca LeBlanc, Rachelle Woodall, Jennifer Reed (and husband Mark), Kathryn Breaux (and husband Michael), Elizabeth LeBlanc, Margaret Franks (and husband Gordon, Jr.).
He is also survived by 3 sisters Eva Rose Guilbeau, Helen Stelly and Jean Menard (and her husband Wilbur).
He was preceded by his father Romain LeBlanc, his mother Roseann (Trahan) LeBlanc, and his sister Ruby Brignac.
Pallbearers will be Paul Vasquez, Jeremy Breaux, Bryan Woodall, Mark Morvant, Troy Breaux, Michael Durio.

Visiting hours will be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Brady LeBlanc.
