James W. Pinkley

LAFAYETTE - Memorial Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm for James W Pinkley, 73.

Pastor Sam McPeek of Faith Lutheran Church will conduct the services.

James, a resident of Lafayette, LA passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Jim was raised in Fountain City, WI. He was a veteran of the United States Army. His love of travel took him to all corners of the world, including the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America. He started working in the oilfield in the North Sea in the late 1960's. Jim then started working for Teledyne Movible Offshore in South East Asia and was later transferred to Louisiana. His love of adventure led him into racing cars as a hobby in Malaysia and Singapore. He also worked for PT Patra Drilling, Falcon Drilling, Transocean and was an independent consultant on many special projects during the last eleven years of his life.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jessie; his daughter, Kim Hahn of Bellefontaine, OH and her husband, Ed; his son, Kyle Pinkley, of Lafayette, LA and his wife, Francine; his sister, Jeanne Campbell of Rochester, MN and her husband Max; and his five grandchildren, Olivia Hahn, Kate Hahn, Audrey Pinkley, Madeline Pinkley and Lucy Pinkley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Pinkley and Phoebe Kammueller Pinkley Thieme.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 11:00 am until time of service.

The family would like to thank the Cancer Center of Acadiana, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Kaufman, Dr. Laperouse, the 9th floor Oncology Unit at Lafayette General Medical Center, and the Doctors and Staff of CyberKnife. They would also like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for their outstanding care, especially Berry, Chris, Esheika and Reese.
