Jeanette Angelle Obituary
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Jeanette C. Angelle, age 88, the former Jeanette Champagne, who passed away Sunday morning, October 10, 2010 at her residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Ron Moreau, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be You'll Never Walk Alone, Isaiah 49, Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross and Hosea.
Mrs. Angelle was a native of Shelby, Mississippi, was raised in Arnaudville and had been a resident of Carencro since 1945. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Evangeline Oaks of Carencro Guest House as a registered nurse and was also their assistant director. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society, St. Anne Society, Ladies Altar Society and Gods Little Dusters. Jeanette was a veteran of the military, having served as 2nd Lieutenant in the Women's Army Corp, where she cared for wounded solders, during World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Tommy Angelle and his wife, Dorothy, of Carencro, Paul Angelle and his companion, Jo-An Ralston, of Carencro, Mike Angelle and his wife, Charlene, of Carencro, Martin Angelle and his wife, Terry, of Pearl River, and James "Jim" Angelle and his wife, Denise, of Carencro; one daughter, Simone Angelle of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Cecile Leblanc and her husband, Kirk, of Cecilia; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Angelle; and her parents, Bruno Champagne and the former Magda Cormier, both natives of Breaux Bridge.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mrs. Jeanette's caregivers, Edmonia Nelson, Cindy Hunter and Lonnie Bourg, for the wonderful care given during her illness.
