Johnny L. Daigle

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Johnny L. Daigle, 73, who died on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in Duson, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "Ave Maria", "The Wind Beneath My Wings" and "Amazing Grace".

He is survived by three daughters, Diana Hebert and her husband, Thomas, Paula Daigle Rivet and her husband, Duke, and Linda Monceaux, all of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Michael Daigle and his wife, Kimberly, and Steven A. Daigle, all of Breaux Bridge; twelve grandchildren, Christopher Thomas Hebert, John Raymond Hebert, Caleb Donovan Hebert, Caitlin Emily Hebert, Glenn Smith, Jr., Crystal Gayle Broussard, Chase Smith, Jason Michael Daigle, Tristin Jacob Daigle, Ben Ryan Boullion, Genie Marie Lantier, and Bill Joseph Boullion; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Tayler, Mary Alice Cormier, Rose Mae Tuller and Gloria Faulk; two brothers, Raymond James Daigle and Louis Daigle; mother-in-law, Mildred Guidry Blanchard; and one sister-in-law, Juanita Boudreaux and her husband, Mickey.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Henrietta Guidry Daigle; his parents, Arile Joseph and Anna Belle Boutin Daigle; his step-father-In-Law, Larry Blanchard; his wife's grandmother, Ozelia Guidry Lormand; his brother-in-law, Jerry Guidry; one sister, Eula Mae Landry; and one brother, William Daigle.

Johnny L. Daigle was born on May 26, 1940 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of Breaux Bridge for over 35 years. He was a Veteran of Military Service and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Daigle was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Thomas Hebert, John Raymond Hebert, Caleb Donovan Hebert, Glenn Smith, Jr., Chase Smith, Tristin Jacob Daigle, Ryan Boullion and Bill Joseph Boullion.

Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Michael Daigle and Steven A. Daigle.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed by Brady LeBlanc on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
