LAFAYETTE - A Catholic Service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 4:00 PM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Joseph Stanley Iwanowski, Jr., age 61, who died on Monday, September 9, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette.
Reverend William Ruskoski, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard will conduct the services. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Pie Jesu", "Ave Maria" and "Amazing Grace".
Survivors include wife, Deborah Morgan Iwanowski of Lafayette; one daughter Janine Iwanowski Vice and her husband, Shannon Paul Vice; two grandchildren, Ty Joseph Vice and Cayden Andrew Vice; a sister, Victoria "Sis" Iwanowski Broom and her husband, Fritz "Sonny" Broom; his aunt, Rose Elaine Kessler SSND; godchild and niece, Jennifer Broom Guillot and her husband, Wayne; a brother-in-law, Richard Morgan and his nephew, Jason J. Broom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Stanley Iwanoski, Sr. and the former, Elaine Esther Kessler.
Joseph was born on May 9, 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for 28 years. He was retired from the State of Louisiana as an Auditor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joseph loved to cook and boil crawfish and shrimp. He spent his vacation time each year traveling to Cancun and loved his weekends in the French Quarter. Joseph will be dearly missed by everyone.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
