CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Judith Ann Babineaux, age 52, the former Judith Ann Chachere, who passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. David Baudoin, associate pastor of Crossroads Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Babineaux was a native of Philadelphia, PA and a resident of Carencro for most of her life. She was employed as an administrative assistant for AT & T Telephone Company and had been previously employed at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center for over twenty years. Mrs. Babineaux was a parishioner of Crossroads Church. She loved animals, especially her dog, Coco and her cat, Bear.
Survivors include five sons, Gerald Simkins of Houston, Joseph Theo Babineaux, Jr., and his fiancée, Keysha Bernard, of Lafayette, Joshua Babineaux of Sunset, Timothy Babineaux and his fiancée, Kavin Moore, of New Iberia and Michael Babineaux of Lafayette; two daughters, Latasha Babineaux and Niyemah Babineaux, both of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Ignatius Babineaux, Peyton Babineaux, Preston Babineaux, Kohen Babineaux, Karson Babineaux and Breana Monique Brown; and her cousins who she grew up with, Jude Darensbourg and his wife, Mary, of Colorado, and Cathy Darensbourg of Worcester, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over twenty-four years, Joseph Theo Babineaux, Sr.; her parents, Hartwell Jerome Chachere and the former Doris Olivia Wells; and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Therell P. Darensbourg and Octavia Chachere Darensbourg.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Joshua James Babineaux, Theo Babineaux, Jr., Leonard Briscoe, John Gotch, Martin Thomas and Bryan Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Babineaux, Michael Babineaux, Jonah Williams, Brian Gordon and Anthony S. Robicheaux.
