CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church in Lafayette for Kenneth Charles Courville, age 65, who passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 8:58 p.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Jeff Ables, pastor of Crossroads Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Courville was a native of Sunset and a resident of Carencro. He was a bassist and vocalist with the bands, Lil Kenny and the Rhythm Makers and G.T.O. and "D" Street Brass. Mr. Courville was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Survivors include his wife, Rena Guilbeaux Courville of Carencro; one son, Matthew Stephen Courville of Carencro; one daughter, Candice Reneé Courville of Carencro; three brothers, Michael Courville and his wife, Frances, of Duncanville, TX, Rickey Courville and his wife, Christine, of Lafayette and Howie Courville and his wife, Sharon, of Sunset; and two sisters, Arlene Cropper of Baton Rouge and Millie Hoover of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Courville and the former Myrtis Cormier; one daughter, Lindsey Paige Courville; and one sister, Debra Courville.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
