LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feburary 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette for Lois Prudhomme Menard, 81, who died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Sharelle Menard and Shamra Geoffroy. Giftbearers will be El Prudhomme and Sharelle Menard. Ramona Carmichael will sing for the services.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Jody Guidry and her husband, Sammy of Lafayette; two sons, Gregg Allen Menard and Royce "Boo" Menard, and his wife, Lorita, all of Lafayette; one sister, Nora Sonnier of Lafayette; two brothers, Bill Prudhomme of Carencro and Dale Prudhomme of Egan; six grandchildren, Joshua Kent Guidry, Shannon Quebedeau, Shantelle Menard, Shamra Geoffroy, Sharelle Menard and Sharee Menard; Four great grandchildren, Konner Melancon, Kobi Becker, Caroline Quebedeau, and Sofia Cruz.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Royal Menard; two sons, Thomas McClure and Kent Menard; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carville Prudhomme.

Mrs. Lois Prudhomme Menard was born was on April 21, 1931 in Iota, Louisiana. She was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life where she loved to bake for family and friends. She was a very gifted quilt maker and quilted during any free time that she had. She was a devout Catholic that was rarely seen without her rosary in her hand because she always had it with her. Mrs. Menard was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Pallbearers will be Royce Menard, Gregg Menard, Sammy Guidry, Joshua Guidry, Charles Lejeune, and Dale Prudhomme.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
