Lucien Tauzin

CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Lucien Tauzin, age 81, who passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his residence in Breaux Bridge.

Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, and Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Charlotte Jagneaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ.

Mr. Tauzin was a native of Cecilia and a resident of Carencro. A veteran of the military, Mr. Tauzin served in the Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany as a tank driver. He was a member of Knights of Columbus where he ranked 3rd and 4th degree. Mr. Tauzin was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Tauzin of Carencro; one son, Bryon Tauzin and his wife, Jerri, of Lafayette; one daughter, Anna Tauzin of Carencro; three brothers, Eldrick "Tee" Tauzin of Lafayette, Lloyd "Boy" Tauzin of Breaux Bridge, and Nolan Tauzin of Rayne; three sisters, Norma Lee Olivier of Arnaudville, Alice Guidry, and Mable Freeman both of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Joshua, Austin, Raven, Devyn, and Rylan Tauzin; and one great grandchild, Kourt Tauzin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alibie Tauzin and the former Felicianne Champagne; and three brothers, Norman "Nanu" Tauzin, Wilfred "Boyo" Tauzin, and Alibie "June" Tauzin, Jr.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home by Geneva Breaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Bryon Tauzin, Austin Tauzin, Joshua Tauzin, Eldrick Tauzin, Lloyd Tauzin, and Nolan Tauzin. Honorary pallbearer will be Rusty Smith.
