LAFAYETTE - Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Malcolm Troy Moore, Sr., 85, who passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at his residence in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and resumes at 9:00 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Lafayette.
Entombment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lafayette will officiate.
Troy was born Tuesday, March 26, 1929 in Bogalusa, LA and was a resident of Acadiana. He served in the US Army in the Italy Occupation as a Private First Class. After his graduation from Southeastern, LA, he worked in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming as an accountant. Later, he continued onward as a CPA in Louisiana and internationally. He was a member of AICPA and LCPA and partner of Wright, Moore, DeHart, Dupuis and Hutchinson. He extensively travelled to all continents except Antarctic. Troy belonged to the Krewe of Gabriel. He was a past Duke of both the Krewe of Gabriel and the Troubadours. Troy was a faithful member and former Deacon of Grace Presbyterian Church. His hobbies were hunting and fishing, both domestic and internationally.
Troy is survived by his daughter, Deborah Burks and her husband, Walter, of Dallas, TX; son, Malcolm Troy Moore, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; brother, Glynn Moore and his wife, Linda of Houston, TX; his sister, Betty Barber and her husband, Buster of Hot Springs, AK.; his grandchildren, Justin Burks and his wife, Lauren of Marietta, OK, Jeremy Burks of Denton, TX, Jonathan Burks of Dallas, TX and Ross Moore of Lafayette, LA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Serena Wilkins of San Antonio, TX and his parents, Hardy Hilmon Moore and Louise Blackwell of Tylertown, MS.
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Moore, Jr., Ross Moore, Walter Burks, Justin Burks, Jeremy Burks and Jonathan Burks.
