Martin Coleman, Jr.

Rayne - A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013, 11:00 AM at Cunningham CME Church for Mr. Martin Coleman, Jr., 63, who passed away on September 29, 2013 at Crowley American Legion Hospital. He will be buried in Community Garden Cemetery in Rayne, LA.

Martin L Coleman, Jr. was born October 18, 1949 in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Martin L. Coleman, Sr. and Vernita Evans Coleman.

Martin was introduced to Christ as a young child and baptized at Cunningham Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He married Joyce Isaac Coleman, and to that union, one son was born. Martin also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Martin leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Martin (Sharae) Coleman, III, and Kendale Bias; his mother Vernita Evans Coleman; seven sisters, Gail Coleman, Janet (Pervis) Douglas, Angela Coleman, Andrea (Terry) Augustus, all of Rayne, LA; Sylvia (Kenneth) Estus of Wichita Falls, TX, Wilda George of Baton Rouge, LA and Delil Batiste of Bossier City, LA; three brothers Chetwin (Beatrice) Coleman, Mitchell (Anastasia) Coleman, and Damien Coleman of Rayne, LA four sisters-in-law, Verna Isaac of Lake Charles, LA, Ella Isaac and Theresa Isaac of Lafayette, LA, Lula Isaac Gibson of Rayne, LA, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and one goddaughter Angela Coleman. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Isaac Coleman; maternal grandparents Percy and Mable Evans; paternal grandparents Emma Jackson and Richard Coleman; father Martin Coleman, Sr.; three brothers, Michael Coleman, Sr. Anthony Coleman, and Mark Coleman; one niece, Joanette Coleman; Godmother, Dorothy Roberts; and Godfather, Alfred Rubin.

Also honoring Martin's memory is a special friend, Sylvia Mouton from Rayne, Louisiana

Viewing will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 7:00 AM until the time of service at Cunningham CME Church.
