Palma Guidry LeBlanc

SCOTT - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Palma Guidry LeBlanc, 89, who died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Bridget Trevino and Vickie LeBlanc. Giftbearers will be Faye Schexnider and Corinne Thomassee.

Survivors include four daughters, Catherine Hoffpauir and her husband Horace, Erisse Faye Schexnider and her husband Allen, Corinne Thomassee and her husband Bryant and Alice Landry and her husband Steve; three sons, Daniel LeBlanc, John LeBlanc and his wife Dianne and Louis LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife Vickie; two sisters, Mary Thibodeaux and Marella Hebert; three brothers, Vincent Guidry, Kermit Guidry and Larry Guidry; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis LeBlanc, Sr.; three sons, Donald Ray LeBlanc, Michael LeBlanc and Darrell LeBlanc; parents, Cleopha and Erisse Chiasson Guidry; two sisters, Frances Constantine and Fannie Alleman; and two brothers, Villiar Guidry and Leroy Guidry.

A native of Rayne and a resident of Scott for most of her life, Palma "MOM" was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She and her husband owned Louis' Drive Inn in Rayne for 11 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who cherished time she spent with her family. She enjoyed listening and dancing to French music and going camping. Palma also loved vegetable gardening and was credited with a green thumb. She will be missed by many but will never be forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Allen Schexnider, Eric Hoffpauir, Craig, John, Daniel, and Louis LeBlanc.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Stonie, Ryan, Cory and Donald Ray LeBlanc.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott.

Memorial contributions can be made in Palma LeBlanc's name to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion St., Lafayette, LA 70501.

The LeBlanc family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Magnolia Estates staff, Heart of Hospice and family and friends who offered their love and help during these last days.
