Purvis Osborn, Jr.
LAFAYETTE - Purvis Osborn Jr., 60, passed away on February 25, 2013 in his Lafayette home.
Purvis was born in New Orleans, LA to Purvis and Rose Osborn on July 21, 1952. He graduated from Chalmette High School in 1971. Purvis married Kerry Ann Schmit Osborn on August 17, 1972; they recently renewed their vows for their 40th wedding anniversary.
Having been a lifelong resident of Louisiana, he made Lafayette his home for the past 33 years. Whether it was catching redfish, hunting dove, or feasting on the cuisine, he enjoyed all that his home had to offer. Purvis was a dedicated family man and was deeply committed to everyone whose life he touched.
He is survived by his mother Rose Fazio Osborn; wife Kerry Schmit Osborn; two daughters, Daelyn Osborn Hartley and her husband, Wyatt of Chalmette, LA, and Annette Osborn Irizarry and her husband Jimmie of Atlanta, GA; one son, Timothy Osborn and his wife, Jacqueline of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Shelby Hartley, Zachary Osborn, Ianna Osborn, Alexander Osborn, Andrew Osborn, Abigale Osborn, Maci Freeman; Great Uncle and Aunt, Clyde and Rebecca Osborn; and many other family and friends.
Purvis was preceded in death by his father, Purvis Osborn Sr.
In keeping with the wishes of Purvis, there will not be any funeral services. However, family and friends gathered for a celebration of his life.
