Ray Paul Duhon

MILTON - Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, for Ray Paul Duhon, 69, who died on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home.

Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services, assisted by Deacon Cody Miller. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.

Survivors include his four sisters, Verna Jagneaux, Anna Lou Duhon and her husband, Herbert, Cecile LeJeune and her companion, Donald Boudreaux and Linda Breaux and her husband, Kenneth; four brothers, Turney Duhon, Sr., Clifford Duhon, Bruce Duhon and his wife, Beverly and Louis Duhon and his wife, Beverly; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oza and Lucy Nepveux Duhon; one sister, Mable Arceneaux; and two nephews, Timmy Arceneaux and Tracy Arceneaux.

Mr. Duhon was born on July 11, 1944 in Maurice and was a resident of Youngsville for most of his life. He worked for Pointe Coupee Lumber Company for 18 years until they closed. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. Ray loved animals, raised cattle and enjoyed crabbing in Grand Isle with family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Turney Duhon, Jr., Michael Duhon, Riley Jagneaux, Kevin Breaux, Kelly Breaux and Louis Duhon.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Cody Miller on Sunday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
