Victoria "Vicki" Hogan

LAFAYETTE - A Funeral Ceremony will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Victoria "Vicki" Hogan, 60, who died peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette after a courageous battle with A.L.S.

A private inurnment will take place in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.

Vicki was born Sunday, April 5, 1953 in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earned a Master's from Louisiana State University and obtained her B.C.S.W Certification. Vicki devoted 30 years to the Lafayette Parish School Board as a School Social Worker on a Pupil Appraisal Team.

She was a very compassionate and generous woman. Vicki always put the needs of others before her own; serving others and giving of herself. She loved to travel and enjoyed sarcasm and humor in life. Most of all, she focused on her family. Vicki embraced and enjoyed the Cajun culture and heritage.

Ms. Hogan is survived by her beloved companion of 30 years, Darlene Drewry of Lafayette; their two sons Troy Drewry and his wife Rachel of Memphis, TN and Erik Drewry and his wife Monica of Lafayette; one brother, Ben Hogan, III and his wife Sandy of Mandeville; two sisters, Cynthia Hogan of New Orleans and Mary Lou Beach and her husband Rocky of Gonzales; seven grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin A. Hogan, Jr. and her mother, Rose Monjure Hogan.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 12:30 pm until the time of services.

The family wishes to thank Jessica Smith, her caregiver and the doctors and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the compassionate care given to Vicki and her family.
