Wilma Crane Morgan

BATON ROUGE - Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013, for Wilma Crane Morgan, 94, who passed away peacefully in Baton Rouge on October 13, 2013.

Ms. Morgan, affectionately known to family and friends as "Jane" resided for many years in Beverly Hills, California where she was a noted artist, interior decorator and real estate broker. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and several art leagues in the Los Angeles area. Jane graduated from the UCLA Westwood School of Design and attended Occidental College. In earlier years she resided in New Orleans, where she attended Sophie Newcomb College and studied art under the direction of renowned art professor Frank Sardisco. Jane was a lifelong student of the arts and collected paintings and other works from various disciplines including modern art as well as older European works. She was a talented, amusing, and knowledgeable lady and was totally involved in her large, extended family whom she loved most dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Almeta Loftis Crane; a brother, Edward Eugene Crane of Livingston, La; and one sister, Hilda Hall of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She is survived by four sisters and one brother, Albert Coleman Crane of Brewton, Alabama, sisters Bonnie Sykes of Johns Island, S.C, Shirley Zito of Baton Rouge, Norma Mayeaux of Lafayette, La, and Mary Culbreath, of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Internment services will be held in Old Red Oak Cemetery in Livingston, Louisiana at 2:15 PM Thursday October 17, 2013.
