Robert (Bobby) Paul Wallace

LAFAYETTE - Robert ( Bobby) Paul Wallace, age 61, beloved son, brother, father, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday,March 25, 2014.

A graduate of Cathedral Carmel, Bobby was a dedicated son, caring for both his mother and father during their lengthy illnesses. His devotion to his parents was exemplary. Bobby was a kind and thoughtful brother whose compassion for others was always apparent. He adored his daughter Ashley and was so very proud of her accomplishments. He cherished the moment he walked Ashley down the aisle.

Bobby never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone he met and was admired by friends and neighbors alike. Bobby's generous spirit was a gift to everyone who knew him.

Bobby's quick wit and delightful sense of humor endeared him to the many people with whom he shared his life. He even managed to find humor and to share laughter with others as he faced a debilitating cancer diagnosis during his last several months.

Bobby is survived by his daughter Ashley Day and her husband Jacob, and their son Jace. He is also survived by his sister Mary Wallace; his brother John Michael Wallace and his wife Ann, and their daughter Emily; his brother Sam Wallace and his sister Margaret LaFleur and their families; his aunt and godmother, Mickey Mouton Blanchard; his cousin Michelle Blanchard Coyle and her husband Gregory; his aunt Nancy Mouton Noel and his numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank Bobby's Cathedral Carmel classmates who brought him such joy in his last months, Bobby's caring neighbors who sat with him under the pecan tree, Doug and Nancy Cochran for their generous support, and the dedicated staff of Hospice of Acadiana.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. The family will hold a celebration of Bobby's life at a later time.
