Charles Randy Pollingue, Sr.

CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Gethsemane Church of God in Christ in Lafayette for Charles Randy Pollingue, Sr., age 59, who passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2014 at 1:50 p.m. at Maison de Lafayette in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Bishop Roy L.H. Winbush will officiate at the services.

Mr. Pollingue was a native and resident of Cankton for most of his life, having resided in Carencro for over fifteen years. He was a welder employed by Industrial Fabricators of New Iberia until the time of his illness. Mr. Pollingue was a parishioner of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. He attended and was a graduate of Sunset High School Class of 1972.

Survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, the former Annette Colligan, of Carencro; one son, Charles Randy Pollingue, II of Carencro; one daughter, Trinika Pollingue of Carencro; the love of his life, his grandchildren, Janae Pollingue and Jordan Randy Pollingue, both of Beaumont, TX; his father-in-law, Charles Colligan and his wife, Theresa, of Sunset; a close cousin, Jude Taylor of Grand Coteau who helped with his care until death; and four brothers-in-law, Chester Colligan and his wife, Ethel, of Cankton, Mitchell Colligan and his wife, Cora, of Carencro, Ronald Colligan of Cankton and Justin Colligan of Sunset.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Pollingue Marks; his maternal grandparents, Maurice Curley Pollingue, Sr. and the former, Georgia Belson, both natives of Cankton; three uncles, Curley Pollingue, Jr., Joseph Pollingue and Rockin Doopsie; two aunts, Hazel Taylor and Dorothy Rubit; and Mr. Pollingue's wife's mother, Loubertha Rubin Colligan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
