LAFAYETTE - A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 2:00 PM in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand, for Mary Helen Casey, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in her home after an extended illness.

Reverend Luther Burney, Assistant Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette will conduct the memorial service.

A private graveside service was held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lafayette, LA. Pallbearers were Bill Bryan, Danny Bryan, Allen Casey, Brennen Angelle, Michael Quoyeser and Chad Thompson.

Mrs. Casey had been a resident of Lafayette since 1971 until she moved to Youngsville in 2010. She was retired from being self employed, owning "A Circle of Children" day care center in Lafayette, where she was affectionately known by all as "MawMaw Helen". She was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues in Lafayette until her illness in 2013.

She is survived by a daughter, Glenda and her husband Bill Bryan of Youngsville, LA, one son, Michael Casey of Lafayette and her youngest daughter, Patricia Angelle of Youngsville, LA,; six grandchildren, Lindsay Bryan Bloom and her husband Jason of Mercer Island, WA, Danny Bryan and his wife Jade of Baton Rouge, LA, Allen Casey of Lafayette, LA, Brittney Angelle of Lafayette, LA, Elizabeth Angelle of Breaux Bridge, LA and Brennen Angelle of Lafayette, LA; three great grandchildren, Jackson Bloom, Carson Bloom and Parker Bryan; a sister, Frieda Bowling of Columbus, OH, a sister, Dolly Wallace of Williamson, WV, a brother, Ray C. Skeens and his wife Georgia of Milton, FL, a brother, Oscar Skeens, Jr. of Belfry, KY and a brother, Sam Skeens and his wife Viola of Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Glen A. Casey and her parents, Oscar Daniel Skeens and Ruby Meade Skeens.

The family would like to give special thanks for all of the love, kindness and support to two very special people, her private nurses, Diana Rodriguez and Patty Daigle; Ginny Leger and all of the wonderful people at Concepts of Care Home Health; her hospice nurse, Joeann Harrington and all of the wonderful people at Hospice of Acadiana; and all of her neighbors who were a tremendous help with support and prayer.
