ARNAUDVILLE - Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Lawrence L. Marks, age 78, who passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Music will be provided by Debbie Richard accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. Readers will be Candi Moreau and Amy Broussard. Giftbearers will be Laia Taylor, Madisyn Moreau and Gracie Courville.
Mr. Marks was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. He was a boat captain for the Petroleum Industry for many years and later retired with Exxon Mobil as a Production Technician. Mr. Marks was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville. He was a veteran of the military having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Mr. Marks enjoyed spending time at the camp, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of forty nine years, Marie Webre LeBlanc; one son, Tony LeBlanc and his fiancée, Debbie Richard, of Arnaudville; four daughters, Lorraine Quebedeaux of Arnaudville, Linda Moss and her husband, Robert, of Youngsville, Tina Lasseigne and her husband, Sid, of Cecilia and Arlene Hebert and her husband, Kim, or Arnaudville; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and one nephew, Jimmy Bercheen of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolphe Marks and the former, Lellie Kidder; one son, Keith Marks; and one sister, Audrey Mae Marks.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Andy Lasseigne, Scott Quebedeaux, Joey Quebedeaux, Hunter Moreau, Brennan Hebert and Brock Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony LeBlanc, Sid Lasseigne, Rob Moss and Kim Hebert.
